Audrey Justine Tautou, a French model and actress rose to international fame with her character as an exaggerated waitress that won numerous prizes in the romantic comedy Amelie. Tautou was often compared to Audrey Hepburn, due to the combination of attractiveness, charismatic acting and her talent. It was not a likely career choice for the pretty dark-haired girl who hailed from a family that was a mixture of intelligents. Her father worked as a dentist as well as her mother an educator. In school she was bitten by the acting bug and made the decision to be a full-time actress. She completed acting courses at Cours Florent, and then landed an appearance on the television movie Coeur de cible. Venus Beauty Institute was her first feature film, in which she was given high marks. A daring actress, she's been in various genres from romantic comedies like Amelie and thrillers such as Dirty Pretty Things. Her French roots led her to appear in many French films before it was time to make her Hollywood debut in the role of Tom Hanks. Models are held in high regard for her dressing sense and is considered a fashionista.
